Lovely Cottage - Great Location - Thoroughly Recommended !

Wow! What a lovely place to spend some time. The cottage is superb, tastefully renovated to include all mod-cons without losing its charm and sense of history - warm and cosy on an atmospheric winter's night - bright and cheerful in the sunshine. Nichola's attention to detail and concern for her guests' comfort is apparent as soon as you walk through the door. The location is wonderful immersing you straight into the vibrancy of day to day life around Whitby harbour. The sound proofing is very good too ensuring a good night's sleep in a very comfortable bed. All in all a delightful experience - Thanks Nichola - can't wait to visit again

Loved it !!!!

Just returned from a 5 night stay at this lovely little cottage, it’s our third time & got 2 breaks booked next year, it’s a gem of a place everything you need for a comfy stay in Whitby, ideal location on the edge of the old town, I think where this cottage has the edge on other properties I’ve stayed at is they all look tired after a while whereas I don’t see these owners letting this one go the same way mainly because they seem to care a lot about the place , Nichola is a top host and always on the end of the phone, a little tip anyone booking whio doesn’t no the area , book a prepaid car park ticket for church street car park in advance with the tourist information it’s cheaper & you don’t mess about each day putting tickets on your car .also book direct with Nichola works out cheaper, enjoy !!!!

Fantastic cottage

Just had a fantastic long weekend at the Corner House cottage in Whitby. The cottage itself is everything you could ever want from a seaside retreat, and then some! Downstairs has a kitchen area, dining area and lounge area with two two-seater settees. The kitchen area is modern and well equipped, with fridge, washer-dryer, oven, four ring hob and microwave. We only used it for breakfasts but I’m sure it’s well up to catering for a full on three course meal. Oh, and there’s a separate wine cooler too. Dining area has a free standing table and dining chairs for four people. Lounge has the aforementioned settees, a log effect gas fire and TV with digital channels and access to Netflix, YouTube, iPlayer, etc. There’s also free wi-fi and the whole place is toasty warm with full central heating. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a shower room with sink and toilet. The main bedroom has a very comfy double bed with side tables and reading lamps. There’s plenty of drawer and wardrobe space for all your clothes. Bedroom two has two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own TV. Shower room has sink, toilet and a very large walk in shower. The location is superb, being at the end of the older part of Church Street, just around the corner from the swing bridge. Honestly couldn’t fault this cottage an will definitely be returning again.

Beautiful Cottage

Ideally located in the centre of Whitby. Parked the car and walked everywhere for our short stay. Fish & Chip shops galore (is it possible to have too many?). The cottage is beautiful, cosy and snug. Really nicely furnished with everything you could need for a break in Whitby. Thank you for letting us stay. We will return at some point in the future.

Had an excellent week at the Corner House, right in the centre of Whitby. I would highly recommend it. Ideal location for exploring Whitby and visiting the Pubs and Restaurants, with an excellent choice for all Tastes, from the Star Inn on the harbour, to eating "Take away" Fish and Chips at the Endeavour, whilst enjoying a beer. The "Humble Pie and Mash" restaurant next door delivered our order on plates to the door, as the kids were in bed.

Lovely cottage in a really great location. It was clean and very well equipped. Our toddler was very happy with the toys provided which was a nice addition. Nichola was helpful, informative and happy to respond to any queries from booking to departure. Thanks again for a great holiday.

Stayed at The Corner House with my Mum in mid Sept. Was virtually perfect for us: excellent central location, cosy, clean and had everything we needed. Lovely touches like a bottle of wine left out for you, long life milk in fridge, anti-bac soap and postcards that you can make use of for a small donation. Nichola the owner was lovely; very helpful and ensured our stay was a very pleasant one. The house and location have a very interesting history too. We tended to eat lunch out every day and then cook at the house in the evenings; I found cooking to be very easy in terms of the oven/hob and equipment available in the kitchen. Really pleased we stayed at The Corner House and would definitely recommend it if you want self-catering accommodation in Whitby.

An absolute must stay!

From beginning, during and to end, Nichola was fantastic to deal with. So helpful and full of information and tips of where to go, eat and do. The cottage is simply lovely and finished to such a high spec. It's so easy to keep clean and is situated in a perfect spot, close to everything but once inside you're away from it all. It's been so well thought out with very smart stair gates, high chairs, toilet seats etc and lots of storage in each bedroom and downstairs. It has a well equipped kitchen meaning you don't have to be out all the time which is great when you have kids. There is a TV within built in DVD and Netflix. Free WIFI and a TV in both bedrooms. A lovely bathroom with a shower. Constant hot water and very good heating! It's a great size with one double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Both very decent sized rooms. It ticks all the boxes and we'll definitely be returning. I wouldn't bother staying anywhere else when the cottage has all our needs and is so lovely to stay in. With a pie and mash shop right next door, fish and chips right opposite and a lovely quirky pub 40 steps (approx) across the street that has live music, bar snack food and an array of gins to choose from, you'd be hard pushed to find better. It's away from the main hustle and bustle (but within a very short walk to all of it) so it's lovely to come inside, shut the door and have the peace when you need. Lovely views too of the harbour and boats and a long stay car park just feet away at a very decent price which you can get cheaper when you book at the tourist information centre. There is so much to do in Whitby you will not be bored. I recommend the steam train on NYMR, a yellow bus tour, crabbing, the abbey, 199 steps, a river or sea trip and Fisherman's Wife restaurant for fabulous seafood and views. There are so many lovely shops and a huge amount of places to eat. Some fantastic views too. Dealing with Nichola was a real pleasure. You can't fault this beautiful holiday cottage! What a great find! Enjoy your stay!

Perfect location

The cottage is ideally sited in the centre of Whitby with all the amenities you could want. The owner goes out of her way to ensure your stay is enjoyable and communication is first class. Loads of excellent restaurants to choose from on your doorstep, e.g. Indian, Italian x 2, fish & chip shop/restaurant opposite and pie and mash, next door. Have booked this cottage several times already and always happy to return.

Top notch !!

Just stayed here for a week, and have 3 more bookings over the next 12 months, that really says it all, this cottage has everything, it's well equipped spotlessly clean and nice and roomy , set in the old town its right in the heart of all the bars & restaurants, once you have parked up you can explore whitby on foot, the owner Nichola is more than helpful nothing to much trouble and always on the end of the phone if need be , give it a try you won't be disappointed . Home away from home. Brilliant.

We had a lovely week staying in Nichola's cottage in Whitby. The cottage has everything you would ever need for a week away. The cottage is well situated in the heart of Whitby. Everything is within easy walking distance. We only moved the car once in the whole week because there is so much to do in Whitby. I would have no hesitation recommending "The Corner House" to anyone looking for somewhere to stay.

Fantastic weekend in a lovely cottage x

Stayed for a weekend in this lovely little cottage, excellent location right in the centre of the old side of Whitby,Fully equipped with everything you could need.Right next to shops ,restaurants, pubs and takeaways( fish and chip shops). The owner Nicola is very friendly too.Only downside is parking, which is bad in Whitby anyway,Not very easy to park nearby but large car park available at other side of swing bridge.Didn't put us off though, would definitely go again x

Lovely cottage in a perfect location.

The cottage is in a great location, walking distance to all the local attractions. The amenities are everything you could ask for with all bedding and towels included. Nichola is very prompt to answer any queries you might have and provides very clear directions to the property. Her recommendations for local cafes and restaurants were spot on as there were loads to choose from.

Perfect Cottage, priceless service to guests!

We were blown away with the Corner House by the location, the beautiful decoration and furnishings. The cottage is set up for a perfect retreat and everything you need to ensure that you are comfortable. It was if we were the first to stay there as it was so spotlessly clean with the softest towels and everything looked brand new. Just perfect! More importantly, the owners go more than the extra mile to ensure your wellbeing. More like 101 extra! I know this due to a very difficult situation created by neither the owners or ourselves. However, they resolved it more than we could have ever expected and so if you are ever concerned about cottage owner responses if things unexpectedly happen, then choose this Cottage and I can assure you that you can enjoy a fabulous break with a positive response if you need their help. Shame I can't give this review 10 stars. We'll be back!!

What a great find. Beautifully finished, comfy, cosy, spotlessly clean, fully equipped, central location with lovely views of the upper harbour, friendly and helpful owner and to top it all a nice bottle of wine waiting for guests on arrival. Communication with Nichola was excellent, all the information you could want, plus answers to questions you'd probably not thought of 😊 Great selection of games for all ages were provided, my granddaughter loved the preschool board games, a good selection of books and DVDs were also available - the weather was lovely so we didn't really make use of these.

This is a lovely little cottage in a fabulous location. Despite being in the middle of the action it was really quiet at night and we slept really well in the comfy beds. Nichola was a fantastic host, with great communication from the outset and loads of helpful recommendations of what to do in Whitby. The house was immaculate and had a spacious feel for a town house. We would definitely recommend Whitby to anyone, and certainly stay at the Corner House.

Just had a fantastic couple of days at the corner house. What a fantastic cottage, so homely, spotlessly clean. Everything within walking distance right in the hub of Whitby. We'll definitely be back again next year.

Charming cottage in a central location

The cottage is central to everything you would need, shops, bars, restaurants, beach, train station etc. Very clean throughout and comfortable with tea, coffee and sugar provided and also a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. Nichola who owns the property is very helpful and informative and keeps you up to date on your booking etc. This was our second visit and already we are looking forward to returning. Bedding and towels are included too.

Perfect location!

We loved our three day stay at the corner house. Everything you want to see in whitby is within walking distance. And a short drive to robin hoods bay. We really enjoyed riding bikes on the Cinder Trail, such beautiful views! The house was clean and well furnished, would definitely stay again.

Bank holiday break

Stayed for 3 nights at the The Corner House with my partner his daughter and his mum. The cottage was of a great location on the flat and right near the restaurants pubs and the Abbey there's no parking on site but we were lucky enough to find a place on the street for free. It was clean and well equipped and Nicola gave lots of information by email and txt nothiing was too much trouble. We would recommend staying here and would definitely stay again.

Great cottage in superb location

Great comfortable warm cottage in central location, within short walking distance of everything in Whitby. Parked the car up on arrival and only went back to it to top the car park ticket up. Has everything you need for a comfortable self catering stay, but has all the amenities of Whitby at hand when you step out the door. Would recommend for a short stay or week away.

Beautiful cottage, great location

We had a lovely stay in the cottage. It's in a great spot close to all of Whitby's main attractions. Nichola very helpful and provided everything you need including recommendations for good local eateries. We tried a few and were not disappointed. Hope to return.

Great cottage in a great location

We love Whitby and visit 3-4 times per year. We will definitely go back to the corner house, it's a lovely house in a great location. The house is well laid out, clean and tidy, and full of character. It's in a great location, on the west side of the harbour only a short walk to the abbey steps with loads of pubs and places to eat. Friendly and helpful owner Nicole. You could not ask for more.

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable and tastefully decorated and in a perfect location

Central location in the heart of Whitby, an ideal base for exploring the town and making the most that Whitby has to offer. No need to use the car unless you want to explore the surrounding area. The cottage was spotless, very comfortable and well laid out. It has been renovated to a very high standard and had everything we needed and more. The wifi worked perfectly which is a bonus if you have teenagers. The communication with the owner was excellent and were were provided with a lot of information and recommendations in relation to parking, shopping and cafes/restaurants. We had a fabulous break and will definitely book again in the future.

Wonderful cottage in the heart of Whitby

The location is excellent. Just step out of the door and you are at the centre of things. Shops, restaurants, pubs all within very easy walking distance. Lovely places to visit by car. The journey to the abbey not as bad as we thought, all 199 steps of it! Nichola couldn't have been more helpful with the booking and making arrangements to stay and clear directions were given so finding the cottage was very simple. Very comfortable bed and the cottage had everything you need for a stay though we didn't really use the kitchen equipment etc as we tended to eat out. We managed to find free parking but it was a good walk and I suspect that in the summer months you'd struggle to find anything.
